In July 2002, I underwent scoliosis surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles with surgeon Dr. Robert Pashman. My surgery took more than seven hours to complete and resulted in the removal of a rib, fusing of five vertebrae, and the implantation of five screws and a titanium rod to support my spine.

Below are links to my surgery journal, which gives a detailed description of my surgery experience and post-op recovery process, as well as to my case review. Both are posted on Dr. Pashman's official website, Espine.com.

Please feel free to read them if you are awaiting surgery or would like to know more about what can be expected with scoliosis surgery. When reading, please do keep in mind that each person and their surgical process are different and that my experience serves as only one example.
